The Solubilisation Solution for Functional Materials

 

With the global shift of consumers’ preference for healthier, more natural products, functional beverages such as vitamin waters have been on the rise. Ingredients such as Coenzyme Q10, Vitamin E, Omega-3 Fatty Acids and DHA are among the more popular fortification options. However, many of these ingredients are not water-soluble, thus posing a challenge to beverage formulators to incorporate them into clear beverages. When improperly solubilised, these nutraceuticals will have reduced bioavailability, resulting in poor functional performance.

 

SoluClear™ provides a solubilisation solution for these nutraceutical ingredients in beverages. It allows the encapsulation of the complete functional oil into nanoemulsions that are small enough in size for clear beverage applications. In a study (available upon request) evaluating the bioavailability of vitamin E tocotrienol, the SoluClearTM emulsion exhibits 3 times the bioavailability of tocotrienol delivered using normal vitamin capsule.
